Episode 16 | How Childhood Cancer Affects the Mental Health of Children and Their Families w/ Tina Hamalainen

This month we explore how childhood cancer affects the mental health of children and their families. Janet is joined by Tina Hamalainen who is a POGO Interlink nurse with the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Janet and Tina discuss the difficulties that children and their families face, the emotions they go through, and how important it is for them to maintain their relationships at school and home even when undergoing treatment.

Tina has also compiled these resources for children and families affected by childhood cancer.
